Biodegradable Plastic: A dear Friend of Environment.

With the advance technology as well as science of chemistry, improved and developed form of plastic came into existence-Biodegradable plastic, which are very much friendly towards environment. It seems to be the world is wrapped in plastic. All most all product we buy, almost every food we eat and liquids we drink all are covered in plastic. Biodegradable plastics, a new generation of polymers rising in the marketplace, are generally derived from renewable biomass source like vegetable oil, corn starch as well as pea starch and easily decomposed in natural environment. Biodegradable plastics are eco and atmosphere friendly products, cost effective, immediately available in the market place and these products can also be recycled.

Biodegradable plastics have wide range of potential applications like sheet and non woven packaging, bottles, flushable sanitary products, shopping bags, Bubble-wrap, Bread bags, Shrink-wrap and pallet-wrap, Plastic film for wrapping newspaper and magazines, waste and bin linger bags, landfill covers, loose film foam, planter boxes and fishing nets, liquid paper board, bait bags, nappy backing sheets, food service cups, cutlery, trays and straws and many more.

It also offers some identifiable benefits which are undeniably important for environment through the application of renewable energy resources and also reduce greenhouse gas emission. Fertilizer derived in part from biodegradable plastic considerably increases the soil organic content, water and nutrient retention. These new form of plastic has potential for maximizing the real benefits for environment by reducing plastic litter and the quantities of plastic waste going into landfill. The energy requires to manufacture biodegradable plastic is also comparatively much lower.
